The Stoughton Police Explorers
The Police Explorers academy is free and is a demanding ten week course that covers the following:
· Physical Fitness
· Police Customs and Courtesies
· CPR Certification
· Self Defense
· Criminal, Constitutional, Motor Vehicle Law
· Drug Awareness
· The Court System
· K-9 Demonstrations
· Crime Scene Investigation and
· Much More! Students are pushed to accomplish tasks that they did not think themselves capable of.
At the end of the program our goals are to increase self esteem, general health, and the "can do" attitude.
Students should also learn team work and the meaning of sacrificing for a group. Graduates of the program become part of our summer course where they ride with officers on patrol as well as take part in the many great activities we have organized in the past.
Past classes have gone to Brockton Rox games in the summer and to see the Boston Celtics in the winter as well as our annual holiday party at the Town Spa. For more information contact Lt. Devine at the Community Policing Office.

Class Time
When Explorers graduate it is a time for celebration, they have endured a great deal over their ten weeks and many of the students who started with them could not finish.
Families and friends are welcome and each class is given a class shirt with it's own saying or nickname. In 2007 we graduate the 6th SPEC (Stoughton Police Explorers Class) and dub them the "Super Sixth."
Other class sayings and names are as follows.
1st SPEC-"The Inaugural"
2cd SPEC-"Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body"
3rd SPEC-"The Third Class Was A Charm"
4th SPEC-"The Fantastic Fourth"
5th SPEC-"The Fighting Fifth"
6th SPEC-"The Super Sixth"
