Several times per year and by request of the Community Policing Director, the Headquarters of the Stoughton Police are open to the general public.
Many different groups have taken advantage of this unique experience including the boy scouts, girl scouts, police explorers, citizen academy members, and others.
Tours consist of a run through our building, a demonstration of what it's like to be "booked", explanations as to our arrest procedures, displays of our equipment,
displays of our vehicles, and more. Tours are conducted by one of our hard working and knowledgeable officers. To arrange a tour contact Lt. Devine at 781-344-2424 or
by clicking the email link at the bottom of the page to contact the CP office.
Three to four times a year the Community Policing Unit runs a ten week citizen's police academy for anyone over the age of 21 who has an interest in law enforcement.
The citizen's academy consists of a series of classes that bring you the citizen into the complex world in which we work. Subjects covered include criminal, constitutional,
and motor vehicle law as well as demonstrations from our K-9 and juvenile units. Other topics explored include the local police's role in anti-terrorism and the effect stress has on an officer.
Participants are eligible for a ride along with one of our officers. To sign up contact Lt. Devine at 781-344-2424 or by clicking the email link at the bottom of the page.
We can't wait to meet you!
