Our Purpose

The Stoughton Police Community Policing Unit was formed in 2004, bringing together all of the many programs that were being offered by the department under one roof. The Purpose of the Community Policing Unit is to bring you, the resident, closer to the police in creating a more creative atmosphere that is conducive to effective law enforcement. The CPU also exists to facilitate the many crime prevention programs offered by our department.

Be Part Of The Solution!!!

From the Director

Explorers Graduation Officer Tracey
Welcome to the Stoughton Police Department's Community Policing Unit website! I hope you enjoy discovering all of the wonderful programs we have for our town. Community policing is not new, it has been around since the early 1800s when Sir Robert Peele said "The people are the police and the police are the people." We here at the Stoughton Police feel the same way and look forward to bringing you the best service we possibly can in keeping up with twenty first century law enforcement.

Sincerely,
Robert C. Devine

It has been said that the police are the "thin blue line" between order and chaos. We at the Stoughton Police Department take this responsibility seriously. Members of the Stoughton Police are fathers, mothers, resident taxpayers, business owners, veterans, coaches, and mentors. The lines on this page represent our responsibility and commitment to you, the people of Stoughton, Massachusetts.
